HORSE DESCRIPTION
I had been looking for a Gymnastik Star (Imp/Dec) (Glückspilz x Calypso II x Werther) x Thoroughbred mare for some time but had no luck in finding the type of mare I was after to join my broodmare herd. In January 2018 I was extremely pleased to have come across the lovely Australian bred mare, Kinnordy Grania, by Gymnastik Star out of the ASB Thoroughbred mare Silky Sue (AUS) 1992 (Silky Baby (USA) 1978 x Ruling (USA) 1970 x Patron Saint (GB) 1962), aka Kinnordy Sue Ellen. It was lovely to secure the Thoroughbred bloodlines of Silky Sue who is also the dam of Gráinne by Grand Ouverte (Graf Landau x Winterkönig x Wolfsburg) whom I leased from 2015-2017. Very different types of mares but similar in that they both have very nice basic gaits. I look forward to breeding Grania in the 2018 breeding season and seeing what type of foals she produces. Kinnordy Grania has been classified into the AWHA Ltd Warmblood Foundation Mare (WFM) Register, Class 'A'.
Kinnordy Grania is a half sister to Jocelyn Hutton's Kinnordy Ricorso by River Dance (Imp/Dec) (Rubinstein I x Atatürk Cavalier) and Gráinne by Grand Ouverte (Graf Landau x Winterkönig x Wolfsburg).

Gymnastik Star (Imp/Dec), born 1993. He is a licensed Hanoverian stallion having completed his 100 Day Stallion Performance Test (HLP) in Medingen, Germany in 1997, placing fourth overall (4/33) with a score of 123.23 points. His breathtaking movement and rideability combined with his huge jump resulted in scores of 8s and 9s in the major criteria which gave him Performance Class 1 status. Gymnastik Star's pedigree features the fourth generation double cross of the famous Gotthard (Goldfisch II x Amateur I x Altlobitz) and Wendekreis (Ferdinand x Domspatz x Faschist II), the refinement and elasticity enhancing abilities of the great Cor de la Bryère (Rantzau xx x Lurioso x Landau) and the reliability of the highly regarded Werther (Wendekreis x Marcio xx x Dolman) (Hanoverian of the year 1992). Gymnastik Star's progeny are easy to recognise, all with super faces, elastic movement and a captivating personality.
Gymnastik Star's first progeny were born in 1999 and are winners in Australia and New Zealand and include Galanthus (Gymnastik Star x Graf Landau x Silky Baby xx) Advanced Level Dressage, Gymstar One (Gymnastik Star x Daktylus x Exiled xx) Grand Prix Dressage, Kinnordy Galera (Gymnastik Star x Pride of Kellina xx x Wronsky xx) CCI** Eventer, Kinnordy Godehard (Gymnastik Star x Winterkönig x Silky Baby xx) CCI** Eventer, and Revelwood Monstar (Gymnastik Star x Monopol x Nobel Indian) Advanced Level Dressage.
Gymnastik Star passed away in February 2016.

Classical type with powerful hindquarters and lots of scope and a fantastic pedigree with the super Bold Ruler as grandsire (Nearco line) out of the superior Gazala II, winner of the French Oaks, French 1000 Guineas, Prix de la Grotte etc. and dam of five Group Winners. Silky Baby xx himself was a Group Winner in France. Silky Baby xx is the sire of successful competition horses in all disciplines, most recently the Grand Prix show jumping mare, Kinnordy Serena, and many broodmares with winning progeny.
