Oaks Callista scoring 89.64% in the AWHA Ltd 2020 National Championship under South Afrian judge Jennifer Whyle (RSA) for a platinum ribbon. Horses scoring 85% or greater receive a platinum award.

Contendro I was the Premium Stallion at the Holsteiner Stallion Licensing in Neumünster, Germany, in 1999. The following year he confirmed the high expectations that were placed on him when he won the 100 Day Stallion Performance Test held in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, with top scores in all parts of the index. In 2001, Contendro I was highly placed at the Holsteiner Riding Horse Championships and was nominated for the Federal Championships (Bundeschampionate), held in Warendorf, Germany. Since this time, he has had successes in show jumping tests up to Intermediate level. Due to a heavy breeding load there was not much time for competitions in sport but wherever he did compete, he was extremely successful.
Bred by Manfred Birchler and owned by Gestüt Famos, Contendro I is definitely one of the best Contender (Calypso II x Ramiro Z x Ladykiller xx) sons in breeding. His offspring has amassed almost one million € with more than 945,000 € in competition winnings. Numerous Contendro I progeny are successful in 1.50 m classes, including internationally. Numerous foals were premium and have sold at well above average prices at the Verden foal auctions. In 2004, eleven of his sons were approved in Verden, Neumünster, Münster-Handorf and Kreuth.
As of 31 Oct 11, Contendro I had fifty five approved sons. Some of his successful offspring include the licensed stallions Codex One (Contendro I x Glückspilz x Egerländer), Contendros (Contendro I x Drosselklang II x Glückspilz), Contendros Bube (Contendro I x Pik Bube I x Moltke I) and Count Grannus (Contendro I x Graf Grannus x Picard). The state studs in Celle, Neustadt-Dosse and Schwaiganger as well as some private stallion keepers each secured at least one Contendro I son for themselves. Contendro I has been included in the Hanoverian Showjumper Breeding Program.
