Harris Park Warmbloods aims to support Australian riders through a variety of initiatives. These initiatives include, but are not limited to:

RIDERS SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT PACKAGE

Acquisition of a purpose-bred Australian Warmblood horse (ranging from foals to youngstock under saddle);
All inclusions considered as standard when purchasing a horse from Harris Park Warmbloods;
Harris Park Warmbloods merchandise package (includes Harris Park branded shirt, jacket, cap, inscribed halter, saddlecloth and rug);
A Coprice feed package; and
Financial assistance starting (where applicable), lessons and clinics.

VISION STATEMENT: "To provide opportunities, resources and access to purpose-bred Australian Warmblood horses to amateur and professional riders competing in the Olympic disciplines of dressage, eventing and show jumping. This enables them to achieve their dreams and assists them excelling in their chosen sport or field. By breeders and riders working collaboratively, we can strive to maintain Australia at the forefront of our chosen sport."

YOUNG BREEDERS (16-25* YEARS OLD) SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT PACKAGE

Discounted oocyte package to use Harris Park Warmbloods broodmares (similar to a designer foal program);
Financial assistance to parentage test and register the resultant foal;
Foal down mare at Harris Park Warmbloods (if applicable) and/or mentor through the gestation period and foaling down process;
Provide guidance in relation to the purchase and breeding of broodmares;
Mentor young breeders in what to look for in breeding stallions and mares;
Mentor through the Warmblood association assessment process;
Mentor through the formative years of the resultant foal until started under saddle; and
Provide information with regards to the differing verband and associations worldwide.

* Parental consent is required for teenagers aged 16-17 years old.

History of the Young Breeders Competition

The original idea for Young Breeders Competition was born in Germany, more particularly in the Hanoverian Studbook. Some twenty years ago, Dr. Ludwig Christman wanted to involve the youth more intensively in breeding matters. His idea was warmly welcomed and soon young breeders associations were founded in all regions of the German studbooks. Nine years ago, the regional contests resulted in a national young breeders competition in Germany.

The ideas about the International Young Breeders Competitions are to bring young breeders together across breeding associations, countries, and languages. They are going to compete in five disciplines, but above all, the aim is to get together, make new friends, and create new contacts. This overall aim already seems to be fulfilled. Many contacts have been made and the young breeders have begun to use their new network for instance by visiting each other.

In 2001, the Hanoverian Studbook was again the first to organize a higly qualitative but also amusing international young breeders competition. The competition took place on occasion of the European Dressage Championships in Verden. Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, Poland as well as 12 German breed associations participated.

In 2003, the Belgian Warmblood Studbook (BWP) took the responsibility to organize the second edition of this competition, under the recognition of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses. In Minderhout, Belgium, the first non-Europian team joined the competition. The participation of the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association team emphasized the worldwide interest of young breeders for horsebreeding.
